General terms and conditions

1. Process and maintain the confidentiality of personal information and sensitive personal information (“personal data”) for the legitimate purposes and in the course of treatment or providing of other healthcare services.
2. Process personal and health information which includes collecting, generating, recording, retrieving, using, retaining and deleting, storing, disposing of or destroying information, while maintaining its confidentiality.
3. Process and include the name, surname, birth date, address, nationality, Emirates ID number, gender, religious affiliation, contact information and sensitive data such as medical information, medication, medical history and other information which are relevant for the legitimate purpose of diagnoses, treatment and/or providing of healthcare services in the hospital.
4. Process anonymised medical information for the purposes of research.
5. Provide any information of whatever nature concerning treatment, including but not limited to current conditions/comorbidities to my medical insurance carrier or third party payer, insurance organisation or medical insurance companies for the purpose of determining benefit entitlement and to process payment, therefore taking co responsibility for the financial settlement of my medical bills.
6. Collect and submit personal and health information to the government agencies, regulatory authorities, ministries, health authorities and other government authorities for the purposes of meeting legal and regulatory requirements as required or permitted by federal and local law and regulations.
7. Submit personal information to my designated or appointed banking institution for purposes of processing transactional requirements. Where required, I agree that Mediclinic Middle East may submit my health information or that of my legal dependent to my designated or appointed banking institution in order to prove a claim or transaction where such claim or transaction has been disputed or rejected by the bank, payer or any other party.
8. Make personal data available to the hospital, its affiliates, related entities and partners (including its service providers, members of its medical staff, nursing staff, administration staff, allied healthcare personnel and other clinical staff including interns, trainees, etc. - “hospital related entities”).
9. Share with third parties who provide products and services to the Mediclinic Middle East facility, hospital or clinic for the legitimate purposes of, and in the course of, your treatment or providing of other healthcare services.
10. Share personal or health data with your employer, as per contract or where applicable,
11. Process of anonymised medical data for the purposes of medical training and education, for clinical and other audits, for patient safety and quality improvement and for facility, process or system certification and accreditation.
12. Process anonymised personal and health data for the purposes of profiling, historical or scientific purpose.
13. Generate anonymised* aggregated statistical data for the purpose of measuring operational and clinical performance to improve our health and patient service.
14. Share personal contact details with third party business affiliates solely for the purposes of (i) assessing clinical performance or (ii) assessing patient satisfaction.
15. Retain personal and health data for as long as necessary for the legitimate purposes of maintaining your medical records and to comply with applicable UAE federal and local laws, rules, and regulations.
16. To be accessed and/or transferred to Mediclinic Middle East's legal, medical and insurance advisers and any appointed experts for the legitimate purpose and performance of its obligations and establishing rights before any judicial entity or exercising or defending its rights in instances where a complaint has been made to any healthcare regulator, and/or where a legal claim or demand for compensation has been instituted against Mediclinic Middle East or its doctors or where it is reasonably anticipated that such a claim for compensation will be made.
