SOAP API
Welcome to the Vectramind S-MSDP SOAP-API. This document provides a reference for all features available to you via the SOAP Web Service for sending SMS. The SOAP-API allows you to integrate your Client Application (Client) to Vectramind S-MSDP (Vendor) using the SOAP protocol. SOAP exchanges XML based messages over HTTP(S).

HTTP API
The HTTP-API allows you to integrate your Application (Client) to Vectramind S-MSDP (Vendor) using the HTTP protocol to send SMS. HTTPS is also supported for secure transactions using SSL encryption. The Client issues either a HTTP GET or POST request to the Vectramind S-MSDP HTTP interface supplying a list of required parameters. Vectramind S-MSDP issues back a HTTP Response which indicates the validity of the transaction. The HTTP-API is used for 1 way messaging only. Therefore you need to provide a valid MSISDN as the Sender ID of the message to allow the recipient the ability to respond.

SMPP API
SMPP is considered the industry standard for sending SMS to Network providers and is our native protocol. The Short Message Peer-to-Peer (SMPP) is a protocol used by the telecommunications industry for exchanging SMS messages between Short Message Service Centers (SMSC) and/or External Short Messaging Entities (ESME). The protocol is a level-7 TCP/IP protocol, which allows fast delivery of SMS messages. The most commonly used versions of SMPP are v3.3, the most widely supported standard, and v3.4, which adds transceiver support (single connections that can send and receive messages). Data exchange may be synchronous, where each peer must wait for a response for each PDU being sent, and asynchronous, where multiple requests can be issued in one go and acknowledged in a skew order by the other peer. Vectramind S-MSDP supports the industry standard SMPP V3.4 protocol.

RESTful web APIs (or RESTful web service) is a web API implemented using HTTP and principles of REST. RESTful API separates user interface concerns from data storage concerns. It improves portability of interface across multiple platforms and simplifies server components by making them stateless. Each request from client contains all the state information and server does not hold client context in the session.
